Back in July, Jessica got me a wonderful and thoughtful birthday gift, snowshoes! The only downside was that I had to wait six months to be able to use them. Well, it finally snowed, and I had good reason to be excited.
Jessica borrowed a pair of snowshoes from my mother and the two of us scouted out a location for an adventure. Neither of us had snowshoed before, but we both had a blast. We ended up going about 1.5 miles, which isn’t too far. Snowshoeing is definitely harder than hiking though. By Saturday, when we went out, the snow was also wet, which made it significantly heavier.
I lugged my camera and my GoPro along for the trip and put together a quick goofy movie.
We snowshoed in a reservation called Garfield Woods. It probably has three to five miles of trails. But, I was excited to check this area out because it supposedly had a number of boulders I could try to climb in warmer weather. I saw a few and I am planning on heading back out when the snow melts!
