After visiting the Hoh Rainforest, Tyler and I visited what has been, without a doubt, my favorite part of the entire trip thus far – Ruby Beach. One of my favorite bloggers, Corilynn, talks about how much she loves the Pacific Northwest and before this visit, I really didn’t get it. But now, I see that the place is simply magical.
Tyler and I talk a lot about color when we visit new places, and over time, we’ve discovered that we each have a preferred palette. The grays, blues, and creams of Ruby Beach were right up my alley. The dense fog, smooth rocks, gnarly driftwood, and foamy shores all combined to create this almost otherworldly atmosphere. I almost feel inappropriate trying to describe it because it was so beautiful. Thankfully, Tyler took pictures (surprise surprise!), which will speak for themselves.
I hope you fall in love just as much as I did.
After parking just off the highway, we followed a short path down the cliffs to the Pacific Ocean. We wondered up and down the shore viewing the sea stacks, rounded stones, and driftwood. The dense fog hid many of the sea stacks from view, and they seemed to sneak up on us as we traveled along the beach.
Climbing in, on, and around the sea stacks was a blast, and we took the time to take some rather silly photos!
