Jessica and I are hiking the John Muir Trail which we will follow for 238.8 miles through 6 federally protected areas including Yosemite, Kings Canyon, and Sequoia National Parks. Before the trip we prepared a quick summary of our plans for each day. That way
our parents curious folks can follow along. Use this link to see all of the posts. Today is day 10 of our hike.
Today we are hiking from Squaw Lake over Silver Pass towards the Quail Meadows near Vermilion Valley Resort.
|Miles||Feet Elev. Gained||Feet of Elev. Lost|
|Today||7.48||+ 830||– 3219|
|Cumulative||109.12||+ 27,779||– 24,970|
Whew! This is about as easy as it gets! After packing up at Squaw Lake, we head up and over Silver pass. On the way we should get great views (like below) of the native american theme named lakes: Squaw, Warrior, Chief, and Lake of the Lone Indian.
After the pass, it’s straight downhill towards Quail Meadows. Given how easy this day is, we may elect to push on past Quail Meadows…but who knows?!?
