Last week I shared pictures of all of the animals we were hanging out with in Florida. But, we sure didn’t travel all the way to Florida just to see some horses and doggies! We used some of our time there to explore some of the amazing places on Florida’s Atlantic coast.
One of the first places we went was Palm Beach located a few hours north of Miami. Neither Jessica nor I are beach people, so visiting Palm Beach meant taking a quick photo of the beach and then heading into the city. Palm Beach is beautiful and has some serious shopping. We wondered from store to store as Jessica window-shopped and I took photos.
Palm Beach has tons of awesome stores which are
out of our price range WAY out of our price range. Still, it was fun to cruise around town and pop in-and-out of the local shops. We visited art galleries, designer boutiques, and a costume jewelry store. This area of Florida is oozing with culture. Need proof? Here is a woman walking a pig on a leash. Am I crazy, or is that pig sort of cute?
One of the primo hotspots in Palm Beach is The Breakers Hotel, so, of course, we had to check it out too. The hotel was recently redone and they revamped their restaurant, creating a swanky bar with tapas-style food. We stopped there on our way to dinner and had some fantastic appetizers and drinks.
The restaurant is beautiful. They somehow managed to mix the old world feel of the hotel with modern stylings. The pictures don’t really do the place justice.
We also took some time to visit my grandparents in Delray Beach, south of Palm Beach. Delray is beautiful like Palm Beach but without the city. After such a long and cold winter in Massachusetts, the warm weather, palm trees, and blue skies seem particularly beautiful.
Finally, a trip to Florida just wouldn’t be right without some time spent on a golf course. My parents and I decided to play nine holes since Jessica doesn’t play. I am training her to be a caddy–but there is still lots of room for growth.
I have lugged my DSLR camera around on the golf course before, so this time I decided to use my GoPro. My golf swing isn’t going to impress anyone, so I took timelapse shots of us cruising around in a golf cart. Enjoy!
