Here’s my outfit from New Year’s Eve. The pictures obviously aren’t great, but Tyler was busy doing something so I took some quick shots with my computer’s camera.
Originally I had hopes of wearing a dress and something sparkly, but I ended up putting together two old pieces (top and jeans) that I’ve had sitting in my closet without being put to good use. It’s hard to see, but the top had a velvety front while the back was made of a silk-like material. That, along with wide-leg jeans, made for a very comfortable evening.
My hair was also kept very low-key, because, honestly, hair is the aspect of “my beauty routine” that gets the least attention. There are many women in this world who always have perfectly coiffed hair and I am seriously envious of them. However, I’ve given up hope that I will ever be one of those women. Therefore, even when I take the time to blow-dry my hair, I typically pull it back into a ponytail or messy bun moments later. New Year’s Eve was no different; I pulled my hair back into a messy knot at the base of my neck.
Finally, I brought in some festive sparkle with my jewelry, wearing a thick cuff and large, hammered silver hoops.
Here’s to 2014! xox
