To be honest, my first thought when considering what to wear tomorrow is, “Wouldn’t wearing sweatpants be great?!” I mean, come on. You’re with family. They’re not going to judge, and you know that you’re going to be eating way too much food. The elastic waist is really going to come in handy!
That being said, Thanksgiving is also a special day. It’s one of the BIG holidays that gives you an excuse to dress-up and also allows you to celebrate all of the wonderful things in life – family, friends, food, fashion! To that end, I think finding a balance between comfort and fancy is super important and probably the appropriate avenue to take when approaching your wardrobe options for the day.
These are three combinations that, I think, totally strike that balance.
Option 1: Gray silk blouse, skinny jeans, knee high boots, and silver hoops.
I love this look, and honestly, I wear it fairly often. The jeans keep the outfit casual, while the blouse and boots help to dress it up. My jeans have a bit of stretch in them which is super helpful, and the blouse is loose, which will help me to stay comfortable through dessert, which I plan on eating.
At the moment, I’m leaning towards this ensemble. The denim shirt, again loose, dresses the outfit down, while the heels and black pants keep it classy. It’s a little bit edgy too, which I am totally digging right now. Plus, the earrings and leather bracelet are so cute!
Option 3: Autumn-colored dress, oversized navy sweater, booties, and dangly earrings.
The orange dress I own is definitely meant for summer, but the color screams, “AUTUMN!” to me. Additionally, I love that I can throw a chunky sweater over the top, making it perfect for the chilly weather. Dresses and knits are so easy to wear, which means, bring on the turkey!
